    Responsibilities

     

     

    15 hours part-time

     

    Dock Clerk I

    ·       Controls traffic flow in and around bays and other offloading locations.

    ·       Assigns and manages vehicle’s bay time usage.

    ·       Coordinates dock space assets to ensure optimum throughput during peak demand periods.

    ·       Communicates with the VSA (Vehicle Secure Access) and Ingress Post regarding space availability and traffic flow.

    ·       Responsible for overall Dock order, cleanliness, and safety.

    ·       Serves as first responder if Dock Lead and Supervisor are not available in the event of a HazMat issue in the Dock area.

    ·       Documents any damage caused by vehicles or vendors using the Dock area.

    ·       Sends any discrepancies with the ticket to the Dock Lead Clerk II.

    ·       Three shifts, seven days per week (both full time and part time)

    ·       Outdoor weather related demands – Open air dock areas

    ·       Long periods of time spent on feet

    ·       Requires boarding truck

    ·       Requires hearing, eye, head, safety vest protection

    ·       May require some lifting

    ·       Mental qualifications include ability to perform all responsibilities efficiently and effectively

    ·       Ability to document any damage that takes place in dock area

    Good organizational skills

    Qualifications

    • High school Diploma or equivalent                           
    • 0-1 year experience working in a mailroom or professional office environment.         
    • Some knowledge of metering, weighting, logging and other shipping procedures preferred.
    • Some computer skills preferred.
    • Ability to perform routine functions of most of the various equipment & systems (fax, scanner, metering, stamping, tracking systems, photocopying, color copying, binding etc.)                                
    • Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must.
    • Ability to work overtime & meet deadlines.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

    • Requires regular twisting/turning/squatting/bending/reaching/lifting and prolonged periods of sitting, standing or walking.
    • May regularly lift and carry up to 20 lbs. and move (push mail cart) over 50 lbs.
    • May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Frequent use of hand and foot controls
    • May occasionally need to climb stairs.
