    Responsibilities

    GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    Answers inquiries pertaining to establishments services; registration of guests; and maintain an in-depth knowledge of local shopping, dining, entertainment, and travel directions.

    Keeps records of room assignments, guest’s accounts, and other registration information. Issues room keys.

    Prepares and explains charges at time of check out and processes payment.

    Date-stamps, sorts, and racks incoming mail and messages.

    Answers, screens, and routes incoming calls and takes messages as needed.

    May type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents.

    May issue escort instructions to bellhop and other employees.

    May post charges, such as room, food, liquor, or telephone, to ledger.

    Makes and confirms restaurant, transportation, or entertainment reservation, and arrange for tours.

    May deposit guests' valuables in hotel safe or safe-deposit box.

    May order complimentary flowers or champagne for guests.

    Arrange for, suggest, recommend, book, and confirm deliverable services.

    Maintains reception area in neat and orderly condition.

    May issue visitor's pass when required.

    Ensures prompt and positive action on guest’s complaints, questions, concerns and suggestions.

    Conducts quality assurance follow-ups and inquires about establishment issues.

    Qualifications

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

                   Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and pro-longed periods of sitting, standing and/or walking.

                   May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

             Mental qualifications include ability to perform all responsibilities efficiently and effectively

             Ability to guide guests to endpoint

             Good organizational skills

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet the minimum qualifications. Deviations to this requirement must be approved by the Compensation Manager or Vice President of Human Resources.

     

    EDUCATION

    Equivalent to two years junior college

    EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

    Approximately 3 years customer service related experience, preferably in a hotel setting

    KNOWLEDGE

    Ability to perform basic math.

    COMPUTER SKILLS

    Intermediate computer skills, including excel; ability to utilize web-based system to secure/edit reservations

    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    Effective written and oral communication skills.

    Strong customer service skills

    Delegation skills

    Knowledge of work flow procedures

    Negotiation skills
