  • Responsibilities

    ·         Responsible for receiving, in-process and final inspection of parts, assemblies, accessories, and materials for conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments and devices.

    ·         Responsible for evaluating the receipt of materials to confirm material test reports meet specification requirements.

    ·         Coordinates and performs physical inspection of product using mechanical or electrical instruments for inspection.

    ·         Performs dimensional inspection layouts using Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), height gages, calipers and micrometers.

    ·         Performs inspections using surface roughness and profile measurement equipment.

    ·         Performs inspection duties utilizing engineering drawings and orders, route cards, inspection travelers, technical specifications, QA procedures and instructions and other related documents

    ·         Reads and interprets complicated blueprints and specifications, including customer and vendor specifications. Develops programs for inspection as needed and evaluates and documents results.

    ·         Helps identify causes of rejects and follows-through for corrective action.

    ·         Performs critical first-piece inspections and prepares first article documentation.

    ·         Calibrates measuring instruments using standards; administers the calibration activities of outside calibration services.

    ·         Performs product and process audits using basic auditing principles, procedures and techniques to evaluate our internal compliance to documented procedures.

    ·         Executes software validation tests to verify product acceptance software revision changes.

    • Provide feedback to engineering, manufacturing and suppliers as required.

     

     

    • Climate-controlled laboratory environment precision measurement.
    • Jet engine assembly and test cell environment
    • The performance of this position routinely requires exposure to the manufacturing areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection and safety shoes.

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree in a technical field or applicable work experience
    • Minimum of five (5) years of aerospace inspection or quality experience
    • Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) program and measurement experience required
    • Familiarity and ability to program CMM software such as Zeiss Calypso or FARO CAM2
    • Non-destructive evaluation certification is a plus (FPI level II or III).
    • Possesses a knowledge and understanding of tooling, gauges, specifications, procedures
    • Extensive knowledge and understanding of industrial manufacturing processes and techniques
    • Advanced Blueprint reading skills for interpretation of drawings, notes, revisions, GD&T, tolerances and symbols
    • Strong working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
    • Good working knowledge of statistics and metrics
    • Strong problem solving experience using root cause analysis
    • Extensive knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
    • Knowledge of continuous improvement and experience implementing lean manufacturing
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and ERP/MRP systems
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to communicate these concepts in written and oral formats.
    • Demonstrates strong communication and customer (both internal and external) interface skills
    • Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate resources and priorities.
    • Ability to work and interact with departments throughout and external to the organizationAbility to work alone or in a team environment with minimal instructions
