The Senior Manager of Data Center and Systems/Storage Engineering & Support will:


Direct a managerial and supervisory staff (2-5) responsible for the CBPS Data Centers as well as the Systems Engineering & Support function.

Oversees the engineering, support, and management of both the Corporate and Client Server Systems and Storage Systems.

  • • Responsible for the Data Center Disaster Recovery plan and replicated data between New York and Utah.


Manage a technical staff (4-8) that monitors alerts from security systems, routers, switches, servers, storage, applications, etc.

Develop and maintain a disposition process for all alerts and events.

Proactively manage the data center environment to assure maximum availability, performance, and security.

Manages 3rd party vendors to provide engineering and support services.

Establish & Maintain Service Levels.

• Track and manage service requests to the service levels.

• Track and manage incidents to the service levels (SLA’s).

Track and correlate incidents into service impacting problems.

Establishes & directs the strategic long term goals, budgets, policies & procedures for the Information Technology department and helps to determine the organization’s long-term needs to accomplish company objectives.

Additional responsibilities:


Manages staff in The U.S.A. and abroad (shared service center IT staff)

• Provides technical assistance on eDiscovery matters to the Legal Technology Group.

• Manages external vendor relationships.

• Manages and maintains IT documentation.

Coordinates with Canon USA corporate IT team as needed.

Establishes and recommends Training Courses for IT end-user training.

• Manages IT related projects and implementations.

• Works as part of project teams in support of IT initiatives.






• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems or equivalent

• ITIL Certification desirable


Minimum 7-10 years of experience in an IT engineering and/or support capacity

Minimum 7-10 years of IT managerial experience (can be included in above)


• Advanced knowledge of technology equipment.

  Any experience with Sox compliance, finance systems auditing


Software technologies should include Virtualization, Microsoft Server, Data Center technologies for Environmental's, Storage Systems such as EMC or Compellent, VPN technologies & various other LAN & WAN experience is required

Electronic imaging, Electronic print, Electronic document management experiences a plus


• Strong organizational skills and the ability to quickly assess and prioritize

• Communicate effectively with diverse groups and clients

• Ability to perform under tight and often stressful deadlines

• Ability to manage several projects simultaneously

Work with peers & team to est. departmental decisions, processes and ensure standardized activities

Must understand corporate business objectives, & apply necessary judgment to effectively utilize limited I.T. resources
