Responsibilities

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

The GL Financial Analyst is a dynamic role requiring an individual who is capable of driving efficiency through continuous improvement of processes, while working in a complex, matrix environment and managing competing priorities.  The GL Finance Analyst requires the ability to interact with all levels of the client/finance organization, may lead and develop others via project teams.  The GL Finance Analyst will provide financial support, including month-end-close, budgeting, forecasting and actual spending reporting to Management and Operational Directors.

  • Prepare detailed and summary analyses and financial reporting to Operations department and Management. 
  • Accumulate and analyze data for preparation of financial statements, reports and regulatory filings
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of assigned business units' management reports, indentifying business trends, potential risks and opportunities.
  • Work closely with the finance team, preparing and reviewing month-end P&L close reports, GL accounts reconciliations, reserves and accruals
  • Identify, recommend and implement process improvements
  • Assist management in development and analysis of budget plans
    • Provide ad hoc financial analysis to management to help leadership evaluate and drive ongoing and strategic business decision making
    • Intermittent physical activity including reaching prolonged periods of sitting, bending, or lifting (up to 20lbs).
    • Extensive use of computer must look at CPU monitor for prolonged periods of time. No travel
    • Mental qualifications include ability to analyzes and share data

 

Qualifications

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORKING CONDITIONS/MENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

·    Intermittent physical activity including reaching prolonged periods of sitting, bending, or lifting (up to 20lbs).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

To be eligible for this position, the applicant must meet the minimum qualifications. Deviations to this requirement must be approved by the Compensation Manager or Vice President of Human Resources.

EDUCATION

·    Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Accounting, CPA Preferred

 

EXPERIENCE NECESSARY

·    4+ years of financial analysis experience, Accounting, Monthly P&L close experience

KNOWLEDGE

·    Advanced knowledge of all office equipment

COMPUTER SKILLS

·   Basic knowledge of Finance Reporting and Balance sheet reconciliation

  • Prior experience with Infinium/AS400 preferred
  • Proficient in MS Word and Presentation Software

 

·    Advanced Excel (VBA, Pivot Tables, Form/Report Design)

·    MS Access (Application Design, Data and file manipulation)

·    Coding and Visual Basic a plus

·    Prior experience with Infinium/AS400 preferred

  • High proficient in Microsoft Word/Excel spreadsheet and Presentation Software

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

·    

  • Proficiency in developing dashboards for Financial Planning and Analysis use
  • Advance analytical ability, with ability to research and understand complex accounting issues
  • Self-starter, with proven ability to independently build process improvements in a results focused environment
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, and optimize workloads through mult-tasking, in order to meet company goals
  • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work both independently and collaborate in a team environment
  • High level of written, oral communication and interpersonal skills
