Under general supervision the Electrical Technician II is responsible for electricaltroubleshooting, installation, repair and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
Inpects, tests, and maintains substation electrical equipment, such as circuit breakers and transformers: Inspects and tests equipment to detect malfunctioning
Troubleshoot and reset breakers and control circuits
Install, and repair lighting systems
Installs, diagnoses and repairs transformers, motors and starters, switchgear, programmable logic controllers, relays and meter equipment
Installs, alters or replaces conduit, wiring, switches and outlets for lighting and power supply for interior electrical systems
Inspects and maintains primary service installations and power distribution systems
Maintains and calibrates electrical meters and emergency power systems
Follows basic electrical safety practices such as lockout/tagout procedure
Completes work orders and paperwork related to job tasks
Performs duties in accordance with departmental and regulatory safety procedures and standards
Qualifications
HS Diploma or equivalent. Electrician certification is required
At least 10 years of experience in a Electrician position with progressives responsibilities
Maximo knowledge is preferred
SAP CMMS knowledge is preferred
Knowledge of electrical wiring is required
Proficient computer skills are required. Strong Microsoft Office skills highly preferred
Abiltiy to use tools such as conduit benders, screwdrivers, pliers, knives, hacksaws, and wire strippers
Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
Must have a strong mechanical and/or electrical systems aptitude
Must be able to install low voltage/alarm electrical systems to manufacturer specifications
Ability to properly use hand and power tools
Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting and equipment diagnostics
Ability to prepare and assemble conduits and connect electrical wiring
Ability to inspect, troubleshoot and replace old wiring and insulated cables, clean circuits
Physical Demands
Must be able to climb and maintain balance on ladders and scaffolding
Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or work at heights as required
Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more
